I took a long time off with no tanks. I sold my tanks and fish to someone on here a few years ago. Last weekend I got a 120g tank for FREE. It's an odd size, 24x24x48. I'm open to ideas on what to do with it. I was thinking about a community tank and I might plant it. I also am toying with having just a couple big guys.

Whatever I do, I'll put the build up.

It’s 48 inches high? If so then You have to post a picture.
A planted nano tank with tall plants could be interesting. You said you wanted big guys though so perhaps some angelfish?

Odd size? I thought that was a pretty common 4 foot size, it's the same size as my tank and most of the people I've known. Definitely the best size mid size tank. Way better than that little baby sized 16X16X48 or whatever the little one is.

Im usually against being a nazi about trivial things but we as a fishkeeping society have to come up with some kind of international protocol for describing tank size.
Aren’t the measurements almost always written as length x width x height?
