Back in the Game

they're doing well, thanks for asking. I fed them feeders last night (skipped the night I got them). The ocels got 3 each and the orino got 6 or so, but most of them were small rosies and guppies. The smallest ocel ate the largest rosy and had time getting it down, but is cool now. I held each one in the water for a couple seconds and then pulled them out and immediately dropped them in the water. They even started coming near my fingers sometimes. They still like to hide in the corners by the heaters and filter inlets but are getting less skittish. I'm probably going to try frozen bloodworms tonight along with some feeders.

will do. they're going to stay in this 40 until they outgrow it. It seems to be the best tank I have for them.

ive found that once they learn to hand feed you can feed them about anything.
but the downside is that when bigger,you wouldnt want one chomping on your fingers.
im bitten several times during every feeding.

I've had some success in the past with hand feeding. My 7" silver aro and 6" female lucius eat from my hand. Once they hit 6", they're going to be weened from feeders and no more hand-feeding.

you can use a powerhead or two to make shrimp or something look likes its alive.
thats how i taught this batch,and also a lil help from my gars.
i stick the shrimp to my hand and release it in the water and soon they realise im giving them food.
and then they begin pecking at my fingers....
