Back in the Game

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
there's plenty of current with the filters, so that should suffice instead of needing a powerhead

One of the ocels ate from my hand last night. They're acting like SA/CA cichlids now, coming up to the tank for food whenever anyone comes up to the tank. I am getting another temensis, hopefully tomorrow.

the larger ocel ate from my hand tonight, so all of them have. I'll give it another week until I try to get them the eat anything else, probably. they did eat the half-dozen frozen bloodworms I threw in there, though.

thats good news, i havent tried to feed my guys by hand yet. but im gonna it a go :D

I put the Piranha back in the tank where the other bass died a few days ago and it died last night. I did add an oxygen stone, but it got clogged. The other fish in there didn't die, but they were small and not as oxygen-dependent. That makes me pretty sure that the others died from not having enough oxygen. It just died overnight, so I didn't get a chance to test the water again yet.

sorry to hear about your piranha dude.. have you tried considering adding a powerhead in that tank to increase oxygen?

thanks. I used to have one in there, but moved it when I had to move the P and didn't put it back. I always forget to do something stupid. I decided to move everything from the 75 into a 40 to hopefully make it a little easier. I'm just going to have two flagtails in there for a little while.

Since I used the 40 for the planted, I put the p-bass in a 55. I got another tem. It's about the same size as the smallest ocel and I got it from the same place I got my dead one from. It's half the size mine was and they were both about the same when I bought mine. I was really busy and didn't have time to take but one picture, but I will get more tomorrow probably.

i know, right.

i had to get some more feeders, so I just fed some krill and frozen bloodworms tonight. the orino ate a krill and the others ate some worms.

I seen him at the LFS and it looked like a future monster of very nice attributes. Now we will all have to wait and see! Get another PwH. One of these in any tank will save you if all else fail's. They take care of three need's at once. And that's in any tank but especially cichla.
