I'm contemplating just letting the almond leaves building up over time and just leaving them there but also want the sand look

Thanks man!
Is it just me or when any of you guys take pics they turn out worse than what the tank looks like in person.

In person I think the blackwater and lighting are on point but look washed out in the pics
Haha. IKR. It still looks good on this end.

Shoot some close ups of these guys please.

I'll try to get close ups but since they are young and have only been in the tank for a week they have been darting a lot. I've tried avoid walking in front of the tank this past week for them to get settled. Once settled I'll be trying to spend as much time in front of it as possible to get them use to me.

I remember years back with my old pygo tank I set up a fan tied with balloons I would turn on when I was at work to try to get them use to movement over time. It seemed to work well so may go that route again

I'm so tempted to add some rockwork and manzanita driftwood like I have in my planted 75 in this tank but I know the tank is small enough and they could use all the space. Plus I know they will get Injured on the driftwood but it would of looked sick.

This blackwater is doing wonders. The like guys are getting more use to the tank and me now crusing up front.

I highly advise all of you that have piranhas to do blackwater. It's actually not bad. I buy a bag of 50 large almond leaves for $18 on amazon and can last most of you quite a while depending on the darkness of blackwater u are trying to achieve. I always save old leaves after boiling add new ones and keep reusing by boiling old leaves until theres no tannins left.
