Thanks, I think I'm going to return it to the LFS. They have a tank full of baby GTs so he should recover nicely. I just dont want him to die.

Need to do it discreetly....wife is already rattled that the RTM has killed 5 fish lol....

Any issues keeping him alone? Should I buy like 10 fish to keep him stimulated? I feel like he's just going to kill all of them...
he will probably kill them.....unless you have bigger fish than him and lots of hide-spaces/caves. I can't even keep my 2 RTMs together.....my baby Dovii do ok defending themselves, but i'm not gonna sit here and tell you to get Dovii JUST for your RTM.

As I said, the GT I have in w/ mine is twice as long and 3-4 times his weight

I would move your GT, he might not survive the night

Danios or giant danios? Big difference. I had a Texas kill 30 tiger barbs one night. I've had 6 giant danios dither with my flowerhorns and they never get touched....so fast.

I think just regular danios. I honestly just let the guy bag them I wasn't paying too much attention.

I'm taking the GT back tomorrow. He's okay still today. Going to see how the RTM does on his own and will try giant danios or convicts if he's super shy by himself.

Quick question... He doesn't like the pellets I bought. Which is annoying because they're expensive lol. He sucks them up chews them then spite them out. The GT eats them but not the RTM so I had to give him some blood worms. Do I keep feeding him pellets until he accepts them? Or is there something else I should try? They are omega one colour pellets.

He will kill the danios and anything else in his tank more than likely. They are a bit more shy than most other cichlids, but he should come out of his shell when he is larger. I'm not sure about the food. I'd definitely try blood worms or nightcrawlers and mix pellets in during feeding time to try and get him on them if you want. Or just keep trying to feed them to him, he will eat them when he gets hungry enough. Haven't had that problem but every fish is different!
