Did you purchase them from a hatchery? I want to get a few browns and maybe a rainbow or two, and start a trout tank. What do you think the warmest temperature that they can survive in is? Any updated pictures?

I did purchase them from a hatchery, and the warmest I'd say 68F-70F, which is as high as I would go. But it is a game of trial and error.
Took these pics after all of the lights had been shut down, so they weren't very awake.

baby brook trouts? awesome, what other species do they have?

brooks generally need cooler water than rainbowns and browns, also keeping a larger powerhead with an airstone under to increase dissolved oxygen. I use to live in Michigan and kept several species in the same manner with no problems. trouts are great, easy to keep, eat well, grows fast, and so many different species to keep. one day, I shall have a cold water tank with chiller so I can keep all different kinds

very cool. look forward to seeing them grow out.

for anyone interested, on craigslist here in MI there's a 100g lobster tank with a built in chiller. be a good starter tank.

very nice. I have a couple of quick questions. What size tank do you have them in. 2 how much and how often do you change the water?

Thanks for the update! These are freaken awesome! I may have to set up a trout tank! To fugupuff's point, I may try to keep some rainbows and browns since they can tolerate the warmer water temperatures!

Figured I'd post an update quick, no pics yet though.
The trout have been moved to an open 55-Gallon tank, and have to whole space to themselves. Might throw in a few things here and there, but those two will definitely be the main fish of the tank.
The hatchery had Brook, Brown, Rainbow, and Tiger Trout, and I change the water about once a week; twice a week when they were smaller. Just to be safe.
Both are still eating well and seem to be healthy!
