yeah so I have to pick up paint today on my way home from work and paint my 225 background today .. tomorrow its getting lifted onto the stand and will be pretty much impossible to do against the wall so need to get this figured out and painted today ..

On top of having like 4 feet of snow outside i cant move the tank back outside anyways. I will be painting this tank on my floor in my bedroom..
with that in mind. should i still use spray paint or am I better off just using a latex paint and applying that (also keep in mind the background will be black paint and my floor is white thick carpet).

I'm assuming because of the inside + flooring etc im better off going with a latex paint, If so .. can someone suggest how much paint I should buy? I have one go at it and once i start everything will be closed so not gonna be able to run out and get more. how much black latex paint should I buy if thats my best solution?

I have always used spray paint. The other day though when I should have been up al night studying for a final I decided to redo a tank... I used black spray paint and painted it in my kitchen. I could smell fumes all over my apartment. My apartment is small though one bedroom, living room kitchen. If you have a lot of ventilation use spraypaint and make sure you have a lot of newspaper down.

Painting it on with a roller will probably be the better choice though. I think buying a gallon would be well over enough to get the tank done.

You will not need more than a quart of latex paint to cover the back of the tank. You actually have a lot left over after you paint it.

A gallon will do a whole room! How big is that tank? The paint can will have an estimated coverage area. If they don't sell pints I would think 1 quart would do ya for sure, but make your decision in the store.

I like the foam rollers, but any type should work.
