The bulb doesn't have any info on its K number so its hard for me to say if I like it or not. From the picture it looks like it might be within range but I am unsure. If you could get information on its K number that'd be helpful.

And that sucks about getting ripped off. You're not doing co2 right? If you are, as with a tank this size you easily could get enough light to make co2 a thing worth doing, but you can also keep it medium light and not bother with that.

I'm not familiar with the light you posted, and tbh, I couldn't find terrible much with a quick google search, at least not as far as planted tanks go. But that fixture seems kinda expensive man.

http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=71_136&products_id=1416 I'll now assume I am allowed to post links to stores. I use this light, but as a 4 bulb 48 inch version. The guy who runs this place is really friendly and helpful, plus, the reflectors on these fixtures are pretty good. I wouldn't do more than the two bulb version though unless you were going to run co2....they have a 4 bulb of this size and could probably make you a 3 bulb if you really wanted (I wouldn't though, do 2 if no co2 or 4 if co2). They can also add moonlights and make it so that you can control the two bulbs separately of each other....another added bonus. Plus, its cheaper and I personally know more about it lol

Research as much as you can. But I do like the catalina t5 fixtures. Also, they can probably give you two bulbs of the kind you want, since it comes with two bulbs and they are cool like that.

I know it's a lot but the fixture offers so many things. Timers. Several different modes and lunar lights. So I don't mind spending the extra buck. I know it doesn't have the k. I don't even know what that means lol. But it does have this if you can tell me about it.

The bulb first

Don't use it. K is Kelvin rating, which is basically a number that says what color of light is being used. Looking at that lighting chart for that bulb, its not worth using with plants because it is a lot of blue and green. I'd avoid using it to be honest.

As far as the fixture, what modes does it have? I tend to be weary of built in timers, just because I'd rather have my lights and timers separate for quality reasons. Also, the other thing they do put moonlights on and it has good reflectors. Idk how the reflectors on the fixture you showed me are.

Reflectors are important because they are what increase your light output. The best reflectors reflect each individual bulb 3 times over...the worst reflectors just reflect the entire fixture one time only...if even. You can imagine the difference in brightness that makes.

I know what I recommended is quality, but you will have to look into the fixture you where looking at and see if its worth it. They both seem to be around the same price though.

I think I'm going to keep the fixture I got yesterday and return that bulb then. I haven't fiddled with all the settings yet so I will let you know.
