you get deer in the city?

Yup though we haven't seen them in a while. Last summer there were twin fawns that stuck around the neighborhood all summer. People were feeding them. Most people believe the mom had been killed on the highway. They were older fawns and didn't have their spots anymore but they stuck around for a while. I haven't seen them now that it's spring though.

We live on 8 acres up in the Cascades foothills, so I've seen lots of critters looking out my back door. I see deer on a daily basis at some times of year. Just yesterday my cat left a dead Ermine (tiny member of the Weasel family) in front of the garage.

Mammals:
Elk
Black Bear (across the road, not actually in my yard)
Blacktail Deer
Coyotes
Bobcats
Raccoons
Skunks
Jackrabbits
Cottontails
Willamette Valley Giant pocket Gophers
Ground Squirrels
Moles
Ermine
Voles
Field Mice

Amphibians:
Dimptodon tenebrosus (Pacific Giant Salamander) - Up the road a few miles, coolest Salamander I've seen!
Ambystoma gracilis (Northwest Mole Salamander)
Taricha granulosa (Rough-Skinned Newt)
Plethodon dunni (Dunn's Salamander)
Rana aurora (Red-Legged Frog)
Pseudacris regilla (Chorus Frog)

Reptiles:
Alligator lizards
Western Fence Lizards

I am not a birder (you have to draw the somewhere) so I can't ID the many species of Songbirds that show up, but some birds I've recognized or looked up.

Birds:
Canadian Geese
Golden Eagles
Red-tailed Hawks
Crows
Pileated Woodpecker
Grouse
Quail
Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers
Scrub Jays, Robins, and tons of cute little birds

Oh I forgot Bats and Flying Squirrels. I actually had a FS briefly when we caught our cat "playing" with a baby one. We nursed it back to health and released it.
