Bacteria/Disease...not good.

I recently lost a fairly new addition to the tank, an albino greshakei. The vent area of this fish started to get red and it stopped eating, and died within a day of noticing it.

Now a few minutes ago i notice my kenyi hiding, with the same symptoms...

There is sort of like a reddish growth towards the rear 1/3 of the fish.

Any thoughts on what this is? Treatment, medication, salt??

have you treated with salt? I have gotten this before... I lost weaker stressed fish, but everything else was fine... I would try to get something for a fungus....

I have melafix, and will grab salt first thing in the morning. Should i dose with some melafix?

melefix is antibacterial, use pimafix, it treasts fungus/bacteria
