Bacterial or Parasite?

It can and a week should see some results. The abx can cause probs for a already sick fish.
So if antibiotics can cause problems for an already sick fish, then do the benefits outweigh the risks of using antibiotics? I have noticed her swimming around more, which is good, but I was not expecting her fins to look worse. I am thinking that her swimming into the sides of the tank is causing her fins to become injured which is probably the white I am seeing on her whole fin when she swims away from me.

Can wait and see before using it.

This is day two of API Fin and Body, mixed half dose of API General Cure in today. She reacted poorly with API Furan 2 by swimming erratically and banging in the tank sides a lot so I discontinued that antibiotic.

I have decided to give the meds a rest for now because the antibiotics and other meds like Melafix do not seem to be helping. She has fin rot on the top fin now. Websites are saying fin rot is generally cured by itself via clean water. I am going to try a new approach and that is to change the water every two or three days to optimize water parameters. Just seems odd after all of these years, now she has gotten sick. I will say, I remember raising the GH (which I never worried about before) by Seachem Cichlid Lake Salt six months ago from 8 degrees (tap water) to 14 degrees. I remeber seeing a few small circles or bubbles in her one eye before the cloudiness. I have discontinued the Cichlid Lake Salt. Any thoughts on this approach?

Anyone is welcomed to comment as well. She has banged into the tank sides so much that there is fin cartilage damage and chunks of skin missing from her front end. She even managed to jump out of the tank which I have covered. I have resorted to placing duct tape on the tank lids and some heavier items. Will upload some pictures later.

I thought I would continue the same thread. My fish has gotten worse. Fin rot is worse, developed some sort of white patch by her mouth which is killing off the skin, jumping out of the tank, swimming in circles fast and she cannot control that...Melafix and Pimafix, API Fin and Body, API Furan 2, Seachem Kanaplex, and API General Cure do not work. I contacted Seachem and they are not sure how to proceed. I am going to try Seachem Paraguard dips and increasing the salinity to 5ppm. 20200223_181552.jpg20200223_181612.jpg20200223_180454.jpg20200223_180405.jpg
