Bad news with convicts, need advice.

Have you thought about Rams? Or keyholes?? It may throw a stick in your spokes(experiment).. But I think a different species would work out better for you...

I did see a male and female blue ram at the lfs, and I was thinking about it. But I hear it's hard raising their fry. I want something really easy to breed and raise, the only thing I've bred is common guppies.

HRP's stay smaller than Cons.. But they have aggression issues too ... Mates kill eachother here and there..

Keyholes get roughly the same size.. But are HARDER to get to breed.. And grow slower. But are less likely to kill eachother

Maybe I should just go with fancy guppies or something :/
Or return my male and get another small pair of convicts. So many choices, I don't know what to take.

You're right. I want to breed convicts, or atleast some other fish. I think I'm going to get another female. But if the male is still aggressive, I don't know what the heck I'm going to do.

HRP are great fish to breed try those if you can find a pair. The cons are always going to be a-holes to eachother until they get bigger space. I say try breeding Bolivian Rams instead of German Blues. The Bolivians are better parents for their fry as Germans are the worst cichlid parents. Though the bolivians aren't as pretty you'll have more fun with them.

Convicts are still fun. But having only 1 male is the best. Try and keep them the same size as bigger males can easily overpower the smaller females. 2 Females is plenty.

My advic to you is to get more females than malesand let htem do there thing.
