Got back from holiday acouple of days ago and i have found out that my brother has killed my Wild caught female Festae along with 3x5"+ clown loaches
, The Festae died from lack of oxygen as for some reason he pulled the airstone out of the water

I just 1+1 together, he said he saw them gasping at the surface, died the day later, and i come back to find the airstone out. All my tanks have airstones in.Modest_Man;2043168; said:Airstones really don't do crap, as long as you have a filter running you've got plenty oxygen exchange.
Oxygen exchange only happen on the surface of the water, so when the bubble break the surface and agitate the water, some o2 exchange happens, but it isn't much.
So it was most likely something else.

I doubt it, but could happen.....if i take my airstones out fish would start gasping at the surface.....Cichlaholics Anonymous;2043183; said:Agree with Modest Man, there had to be an underlying factor, perhaps the tank was exposed to chemicals or something (like from aerosol sprays)
