i thought that 180g was too small for a silver? im out, ill check replies later, i like to be surprised with what i find, but i prefer good news ;)

and you think a 180G is good for a jardini for life? xD

it will be just as bad as the silver xD and the jardini is not as flexible as the silver xD

Thats tight that your gonna set up a fish room. I think that you should have just one big w/d filter for each tank instead of two fx5. It would cost about the same, just the difference is it would be alot easier to maintain and you would get better water circulation, just get a strong GPH pump, and for a UV. Although I myself have the fx5 filtering a 240gal tank,5 fish, and bare bottom, I know it would be alot easier to maintain a W/D. I have to keep my water about 2 to 3 inches below the top of the tank to get water circulation. Before when I didnt my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate spiked up. Although I had 9 different fishes, rtc 13in, sailfin cat 17in, 2 pbass 10in, 1ft, african tiger pike 1ft, hero sevrum 8in, dovii 8in, marble cat 1ft, greenpike 1ft. So if it was up to me I would get a W/D since your looking in to getting ]V[onster fishes..

I'd definitely go with a single specimen tank with a jar over a GG!

yes i think 180g is good for a jar for life since they dont get as big. so you think itd be ok to have a silver arowana in a 180g tank for life? i was only doing one filter per tank. but the filtration is double the capacity of the tank.

lookin for a straight answer here!!!! 180g or no...... im not sure i could go with something larger but id have to move it to being my centerpiece tank, which i wouldnt mind if it had a silver arowana in it. my lfs actually suggested purchasing a 220 tank they offer cuz its only 40 dollars more than the 180g tank, but almost the same dimensions, its just 6 inches taller, so it does not mess with my plans at all. but i realize that this does not increase length.....

p.s. about arowanas not liking complete dark, would actinic lighting do the trick, theyd emit alot less light than leaving a lamp on, and my other tanks could get some rest as well, its sorta dim..... input?

this is the deciding factor above this post, the answer to this question.....

so far ive read in many places that 180g is good for a silver for life. id love to have one
