I was laid off from work, and money is tight. Unemployment pay isn't a lot, and I needed to cut my bills down. Having a mortage, car payment and other bills makes it even tougher. I got rid of some of my collection, and more are going this week. I love my fish, but the cost of filters, feeding, water bills and electric will help me save money. Hopefully once I'm employed again, I can rebuild. I am keeping only 2 of my tanks.
Anyone else have to do this?

I'm 13 so I'm keeping all my fish. My parents aren't laid off so we don't need to cut back as much. Although we are cutting back a little

I am lucky I am in the military here in Canada, so have a job through this whole thing, but if my wife looses her job we will not be doing my planed upgrades.

My dad works in Afghanistan for a private contractor so i don't think he will loose his job.
Sorry to hear about that :( hope it all works out for you and others who lost their jobs to this mess.

i am sorry this has happened to you..hopefully everything will go back to normal before things get too much worse..i wish you luck starting over..

Work full time during college. Getting promoted to a manager with more pay in middle of March, plus live with the parents. So won't be downsizing any time soon. What the size on them two tanks you have left. They big?

He asked if anyone had to downsize. I answered the question. The economy sucks, I know my dad lost his job too. IDK how were going to pay the rent this month at all, it sucks. I feel for him, just because I dont say I'm sorry you lost your job doesn't mean I am a bad person or don't care. Chill.

sorry to hear bro...

luckily i didnt have to take down any tanks...i just cut back on the lighting hours, feeding, lower the temp on the heaters, and wrap my canister filters with old sweaters to help keep the heat in.
