Badis badis and Peacock Gudgeons...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I had some luck today at a better LFS, just had to drive an hour and 30 mins, lol.
They can at least order the fish I want for the new tank, and usually have some of them in stock (though the Badis badis was mislabed as Scarlet Badis, the Dario dario). And they had Emperor gudgeons in stock (pricey though)...

Did find some cool new fish for my community tank though, Snakeskin Barbs, these fish are great looking!

Once I start getting the tank together I'll have to post a build/progress thread.

Dig the gourami and cobalt blue goby, didn't find a while lot on the rhinohorn. Will be looking around for more tankmates when I get things together, but those look great!

Be careful mixing true gobys with sleeper gobys ive never had good results aside from the dragon gobies. Even though they are small sleeper gobys are very predatory and out competed the true gobys for food and also territory. I found true gobys to be better off in small non predatory community tanks. Sleepers tend to be heavy eaters and a lot can consume their own or nearly their own weight in food.

Cool my LFS has empire gudgeons for $20 a piece it is high for such a small fish but a well feed male in spawning dress will light up a small planted tank for sure.

I have kept dragons for years in fresh water also had them in brackish.I have one right now doing great in fresh was tiny when i got him growing and eating well in pure fresh water. Biggest and longest lived dragons ive seen were in pure fresh. The sleepers will be fine with shrimp as long as they cant eat them.

That LFS where I found them had maybe a dozen at around $22 each if I remember right...

I need to do some more research about the difference between true gobys and sleeper gobys I guess... That way I know which is which...
