Honestly, I'd be worried about both ways. The cat could shred the GATF if it wanted to.

That seems to get the worry. I guess I won't chance it. I'll proly pickup a different big cat. not sure if I'll do a RTC or not. but for cats that get over 4' there's not to much topick from. And I don't want it messing with the GATFs. If the GATFs mess with the cats I can add decor for hiding but I don't want anything messing with the goliaths.

Maybe a giraffe cat?

If I could grab a large one I would pick one up. but needs to be over 12" now for me to be interested. But still would like to find other cats that will top out around 4'

Dmack took a break from fish for a while I think. Also I know he sold his pbass so I'm not sure he'd still have his yarelli's

The most plausible scenario for things to go wrong with an yarelli is it's gonna kill stuff. Could it be made to work? probably. Do I know how to make it work? no. But they're called the devil cat for a reason. So I'm sure chances are it's gonna do some damage. Same goes for all the bagarius from what I know. They're known to be non cohabable. If somethings gonna go wrong with gatf and yarelli. It's gonna be the gatf that are gonna lose.

I think it'd take a while to get a giraffe to 4'. If you don't mind something that tops out over 4' and want an oddball cat that gets big and not many have. I'd go flavicans or filomentsum. You could go wallago.. But I don't think I'd risk one of them either.

As long as it doesn't mess with my GATFs I don't car so much. but the wallagos are kinda boring looking to me but i'll look into the others you mentioned.

i just looked into this as well because there's a 15" or so one at a LFS for near 300usd. when they told me that it has been known to eat young children swimming in the right place at the wrong time... decided this was not safe for the GATF or most anything else for that matter. Lots of Cats are true monsters ... these and the giant channa, which is too bad.

25foot ... that's going to be cool. need one of those swimming pool machines that allow you to swim in place.

Keep them away from those GATF. Even if they are big enough I wouldn't chance it. Yarelli and GATF are precious fish both with nasty attitudes and big teeth. There is no telling what could happen. I have kept a few yarelli and the attitudes seem to vary. I also want some GATF as well and my plan is to dedicate them to there own tank. Treat them like discus. And Buy that I mean each tank should be about that fish. For the yarelli every decision would be about the yarelli and same for the GATF.

Good luck.
