"Balloon" Green Terror - What do you think?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All goldfish are balloon fish with crooked spine and double tails. If they can develop double tails out of them, they can market them as green goldfish.

I like the little freak, but I think it's out of pity. I don't like the way they mark up deformities for more money, if anything they should be bought at a discount. I'm concerned about the life expectancy, especially with the 38 dollar price tag.

The same internal organs of a normal sized fish are smashed into a much smaller body. Chances are they are prone to health issues and do not have the longevity of healthy, defect-free fish.

Abomination.

I like the color on it. I am not quite as apposed to crosses and selective breading as some appear to be. Most captive bred fish in the hobby are selectivity bred for something and many hybrids are now some of the most sought after fish around. This particular selective abnormality is not something I would be looking for though.

I have seen some nice looking SB Green terrors so I am not against them. But I don't care for this particular one.

Post in the hybrid section! Awful creation!

I don't think they're hybrids. I think they are selectively bred to get the short bodies like Ryan said.

I saw a bunch of short body fish for sale when I was in Thailand. They had short body red-tailed catfish, sb tinfoil barbs and flagtails, and even some short body arowana. I don't think all of the sb stuff looks good but some of them do, like the sb red tail catfish.
