I no longer have either of the parents. Only a few of their offspring. My female is in a 265g tank and madly in love with a Dovii over twice her size.

Yes. They're very red when mature. My current female still needs to turn more red.

Umm... Balton seems pretty sure. Why are you questioning him? I had a female that looked very similar.

I'm basing on the fact that it's MY fish. I see it every day, I'm not just glancing at a photo and making a snap decision like you. Let me see if I can get a photo with the black bar showing. She just really takes after her father in the looks dept.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it to be a female, it'd be a very nice one at that. It just doesn't look like one. If your going by the blue on the top fin than that can be decieving as my male has more than this one. Once again not trying to be a dick, just curious
