These are among the smallest of sharks at about 40 inches. Adults of the Bamboo Shark, Brown-spotted Cat Shark, or Brown-banded Catshark can be kept reasonably well in a 150 gallon or larger aquarium.
That site is full of wrong info. First off, it's not a catshark. Catsharks have vastly different jaw structure. If you can't get the name right, no way the other info is solid. They aren't of the smaller bamboos, brown bandeds are one of the larger bamboos. 3-4 feet is accurate for size, females getting bigger than males. You'll need way more than a standard 180 gallon for one. Think about the short end of the tank being twice the full adult length of the shark. So you're looking at something 6'x 12' or so for a good sized home. Even better, look into a round pool. Much better for sharks.
Most catsharks stay small. I really like coral cats and marbled cats. Both stay around 24", but you should keep them in groups. They are nocturnal, so don't expect to see them out in the day, and get used to feeding at night with low light or no lights on. They are a social shark, that will pack hunt. It's amazing to watch. I've kept and bred them before. One of my favorite small tropical sharks.
