If you had the choice to vote would you vote for the approval of a bill to ban:

Redtail Cat
Tiger Shovelnose Cat
Marbled Shovelnose Cat
Any hybrid there of

Disclaimer: ***I know, but it is just for "fun", I should look up the Sci. names, but bear with me.
***just these b/c they are the most common

I wanted to do a poll, can anyone turn this into one?

more then likely all of them because they get big, and to many people buy them with out knowing how big they get.

marble shovelnose=marble?

I would rather pacu be banned first, but of all of those...TSN.

Simple solution. Inform buyers!!!

would that really stop any of them? how about if any store/supplier that wanted to sell them had to have a full grown one maintained on premises so that the size would really hit home! or even just a model of one?

People buy them b/c they get big and b/c they are cheap.

Not as simple as you might think, considering alot of the people selling these types of fish have no clue about them. The Store I purchased my RTC from had him labeled as a SunCat...I actually ASKED where the suncat was and the lady pointed out the RTC and said there it is... It's crazy that Stores arn't informed to begin with so I would actually have to say that permits should be required as it would force people to actually do their homework to own these things.

When I bought 5 TSN's from an LFS they didn't even ask me if i knew how big they got... just bagged em up... Buyers can't be informed if the sellers arn't held accountable for learning about the fish they sell

I know that this is for fun and all,but to tell you the truth, i would have to say NO!!! to a ban on any Catfish,i dont even think that there should be a ban on Snakeheads.I can see Piranhas, they can be dangerous(rarely but thats it.)I dont think that as a fishkeeper we should be told what to keep.Sorry for the vent, just my 2 cents!!!

it's not the Fish keepers that are the problem, it's the fish releasers that are!
