Hell no....I could understand why a ban might sound appealing for the fishes sake, but it would suck too much for those responsible owners. I'm all in favor of a GREAT BIG price increase to keep newbies away.

Maybe a home visit before purchase, like animal services requires before adopting pitbulls. If you have the proper facilities to house it safely and humanely, it's yours.
No man i wouldn't ban them but i would be 100% in favor of haveing to get a permit to own one like with arpimas same would go for pacus i do think pacus should be banned from petsmart however but a permit system would work we'll people who can take the time to set up a pond in there basement could take the time to fill out a little paper work

Geez you guys are lucky you dont live here an Aus. Ornate pictus is probably the coolest cat we can get here legally. Any sort of check ups would be too expensive and time consuming. Licensing is the way too go and i wish our govt wasnt as crap and we could have it here. Maybe licences for diff classes of fish like they do here with reptiles and either RTC TSN ect are stage 2 or 3 license meaning you have to of had stage one for atleast 2 years first. Or maybe make it so you can get whatever license you want whenever you want but have to be able to past a test with general questions on the species in that class. And ofcourse the higher the license class the more expensive it should be.
