I agree the only wrong doing to Pit's is man made... the dow goes by what you teach it ...owners should be fined and jailed for any wrong doings

Now that I used up my silliness on the last post, time to be serious. I read this entire saga and tried to stay out of it, but I just can't. Yes Pitts can be very aggressive and cause lots of damage, that is what they were bred for. Any kind of working, hunting, or protection dog can be aggressive and cause lots of damage. Pitts make the headlines because so many people have them just to be cool, have a tough looking dog. There are many more attacks that don't make headlines because "woman attacked by boxers" doesn't stir up sensationalism. Pitts are on the chopping block because they are considered low class by many people. If the government said we're banning GSD because of aggression, there would be a backlash from many parties. It's easier to go after the little guy. Kind of like the war on drugs, stop the guy on the corner because it gets votes. Leave the cartels alone because there countries give contributions. If you want to do something about the issue, support legislature to regulate breeding and selling. Stop giving slaps on the wrist to people caught with dozens of torn up dogs and fighting equiptment on site. I have owned, trained, groomed and played with hundreds of different dogs. I've been attacked by a GSD, Dobie, Akita and numerous small breeds. Of the dozens of Pitts I've interacted with, the only danger I have ever been in was from being knocked over and drowned in a puddle of drool. To sharkgirl and bettagurl, you may only be only 13, but you have a passion and belief in something, which is rare to find in a person of any age. Don't ever lose it. To those who think the breed should be banned, remember yor dog could be next. And I know, there are not schools of fish roaming the streets, but I'll bet your the same ones who complain about bans on the fish you want. All because of some irresponsible owners and media hysteria. And to those complaining that this thread has no business on this site, well then the mods should shut down the lounge section because Anna Nicole Smith, tattos, video games, etc. have no business being on here either. Red Devil, love your outlook on all animals in our care, thank you. A few more like you and the animals of the world would have nothing to worry about. And no, dogs do not act in a cruel manner. That is just putting an emotion to them which is uniquely human. Just my opinions built on many years of animal interactions. No hysteria and certainly no
