You know i am tempted to strike back at you.. but instead i thought it better to just let you enjoy your nasty disposition by yourself.. spare me. But How many dogs do you have.. and what breed are your dogs.. the reason why i ask you is usually the person with the most distain for something never had any exposure with the object.. and sometimes fears it enough to hate it instead of understanding..

I currantly have 2 rescued 80 and 90 Lb Boxers, I have also owned English Setters, Mastiffs and a Pit, what do you know?

I know that you have some dog experience now.. very good!!

let me state a simple fact. Dogs are not only bred for physical qualities but also for other things such as dissposition and attitude. Pits for the most part have been bred for aggressivness and fighting. While there might have been "good" pits most of the calm disspossition has been removed. Just keeping your dogs leashed and trained doesn't always make you a responisable dog owner. You should research the parents a little and see what kind of attitudes they and previous offspring have. I spent hours with my dogs parents and sibling before deciding to purchase my pups. Making sure they weren't overly aggressive. I will state again I don't dislike pits or any dog for that matter. Nor do I agree with banning any dog. I am just stating they are dangerous as a breed. More dangerous than any other breed and the history proves it. If you want my honest opinion there are many more breeds including GSD's that physically posses the ability to be MORE dangerous than pits BUT don't posses the aggresivness and drive!!

hmmmmmmmm this all sounds like a case of the im-a-girl-and-i-have-to-be-rights to me. i think this thread was started for the sake of argument.

you state many good points here.. research is the key.. and maybe there should be a ban on breeding pits.and be sure breeders are knowledgable people. Because it still comes down to the pit suffering a fate of being put to sleep whether it was a bad dog or a good dog.. if it is a pit bull and finds itself with out an owner it has no chance of adoption just simply because it is a pitbull.. and that is so unfair to put labels on something with out really judging the individual.. I do not think this is girl vs. guy issue.. but the more involved with these subjects i become the more i find how fascinating and how frustrating and how easy the subject is misplaced.

I once had a friend years ago who's brothers raised Pitts for fighting, in CT.
6 1 year ild Puppies ripped there mother apart when she had become Ill, They never raised another Pitt. There are a lot of dangerous breeds but you have to start somewhere, no animal should be banned but a liscensing process needs to happen.

I now understand how you feel and i apologize for my hasty remarks..Here in this note you state that your friend's brother bred these pits for "fighting.". this was bred into them and at one year old these pits are showing the side of their personality that they were bred for by your friend's brothers.. .. ..and in a qroup they went into a frenzy because of their breeding..and also by one year old i am sure these pups were exposed to fighting elements in order to condition them for what lay ahead in their future.. so i do not think this is a good case to use as an example to us that all pits are dangerous vicious dogs.. but i do agree that there should be more license measures on the breeding of the pits..after all what is the point in bringing a unwanted dog into this world..
