Banded Bamboo Shark

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you know they lose the bands when the get older.

Yes, that I do, but they remain so beautiful. It almost feels like the RTC for me for freshwater ... so gorgeous and cute as a baby and then even though they change when older (for RTC, fat and a little lumpy maybe a little dull!) still just love them soooo much.

lol idk i prefer epaulette shark or coral cats. when they are bigger. small bamboo's are on the top of my list i had thought about starting one out in my 220 when i get back but not sure if i wanted the work or not

You are very rude. For no reason. I believe I already mentioned an extended timeline.

you have kept jack dempsey, oscar and plecostumus for a short time. then you buy an rtc. you then jump into getting a pair of rays. a week later you get two more rays. then a couple weeks later you get a ball python. now your on about sticking a bamboo shark in your 125 when your 300 arrives.

what is it next week? a hippo for the back garden? or a buffalo for your bedroom?

please do everyone a favour and get to grips with what you have got at the moment since you are almost a noob when it comes to fishkeeping. :D you can read all you want but its actual experience that counts... not just posting on any and every thread about what you have read. anyone can do that! try giving people advice based on your actual experience (which is extremely limited to say the least). but then your post count would only be something like 40 lol

if you really wanna go salt then start off small and work your way up. its not fair on the fish!

didnt mean to sound rude. just stating some FACTS!

I agree with lungfishlvr in a nicer way. Your first monsters, your oscars are still babies, 4 to 5 months is no time in fish keeping. I haven't even cleaned the majority of my filters in the time that you have been keeping monster fish. Everybody warns people about keeping large fish and providing a home for them, but is tough to get that message across. Until you actually grow a fish out to enormous size and realize what is involved with feeding it, maintaining these huge tanks, and possibly moving a huge fish from tank to tank you can't really comprehend the difference between a oscar and a guppy. Keeping fish should be a slow learning process, because of the wonderful wealth of information on this and other forums it is easy to think that you know what to expect and that you are well adepted to handle it. Just my two cents, I am really just trying to help you. Slow down a little and enjoy the fish you keep, spend some time away from the fish forums and just sit and watch your fish. Sometimes I will sit down to watch my fish eat and won't realize that an hour has passed. Enjoy the grace and beauty of what you have and not just keep looking toward whatever is next.
