The only suitable tank mates for bamboo sharks are other simmiar sharks, rays, eels, groupers, marine bettas, and remoras.

that would make a kick ass tank
what do you keep with sharks?

Well personally in my tank I have 2 banded bamboo sharks, 1 Marine betta, 1 zebra moray, and 1 Remora.

The groupers do go well with sharks but they have a very high bioload and adding one of thouse would probably double my bioload. The marine betta is a great alternative to a grouper.

Yep. It's a homemade acrylic. It was supposed to be around 250 but turned out to be something like 275. It is 8 feet long 32" wide and I can't seem to remember the height. It's lower than your average tank.

But maybe my calculations are wrong to figure out the gallons.

:D

Also dont forget snappers and by the way the reason these sharks dont eat and die is mainly because these and related species of sharks are prone to developing a goiter, a lump that appears on the outside of the throat area. Starting out as a small lump, over time it can develop into a very large growth that blocks the shark's throat, which prevents it from eating. A goiter is the result of the lack of iodine in the shark's diet. It takes many months for one to develop, and takes just as long to reverse it. It's important to takes steps to supplement the shark's diet with needed iodine when a goiter is first noticed. If left alone, once it grows too large, at this point it's too late to save the shark, and the animal slowly dies from starvation. This guys I read online and it is true i had one that was about 27 inches die of starvation due to this, so to prevent

Haha, I think the LFS wanted a new bamboo shark for their display tank, they lost their old one to a clown trigger that went homicidal.

Homicidal is what i would call the LFS staff. It's a known rule .... triggers and puffers = NO SHARKS
