theres no ammonia because its a new tank and the ammonia hasnt built up yet. give it a few weeks, guarantee youll see an ammonia spike. hope you dont lose your fish because you didnt take the time to do your research

i tink that if i stay on top of it every day and do what i gotta do i should be ok! i could'nt keep him with the other fish i have becouse he would have killed them all! all i could do is hope for the best. if i have and problem ill post them or just ask jp he seem's like he know's what he's talking about plus his fish's look ok and i dont mind any other advice or tip's from any body else who could help also im looking to breed my manni and i would like to know if any one has done it efore and how big of a tank is best...

for my cons, i take out their filter on the hob and dunk it into my new tank that im trying to cycle.

The new tank is a 75g with 25 gallons of cycled water from my other tank that im using the filter from the hob. This tank from day one has been crystal clear with 0 deaths. I like this method but, Id like to pick up an all in one test kit

Any ideas on which is the best brand for the buck?

thanks
David

The behavior could be due to it's aggression also.

I have a large hybrid and he swims around with the fake plants in his mouth.
He bites and shakes them like a dog also.

i think a f 405 canister or 2 ac-110 for your 75 should be good i good a 75 gallon and i have 1 405 and 1 ac-110 and a ac-50 power head but i have bigger cichlid's and i dont want to deal with overly dirty water

if you have an established tank, you can get your tank to cycle in about a week. everyone has given good advice on how to help it along. i cycled my 100 gallon in six days by filling half the tank with "dirty" water from my other tanks and using filter media from my other tanks. this is VERY important if you don't want to lose your fish. you could just use the filter media too. or gravel from your other tank.
