yes we are breeding rays on a little island like the UK :D

a big place like the US shouldnt need to import any more rays the amount they have imported over the years were are all the big rays in the US now you should have captive bred rays every were buy now :D

it takes small countrys like the germany, holland and the UK to show the way :D

What is your problem, you always have to make a debate, or an argument, we are just having a bit of fun.:chillpill:
For your information, Germany now have so many rays that they are selling to U.K LFS's for rock bottom prices. Scobina's Hystrix's are all around $160. I've just been given a quote for a Leo for 300 pounds which i'm estimating is around $400.
As you said David there is such a small market of people who are willing to look after rays properly. Which is pushing the price down dramatically in germany, holland and the UK.

Hello,

hm I hate all this bannes.

And about breeding rays, in this times everybody tries to get as much "banned" brazil rays as he could get and pays allot of money, but try to sell a standard motoro pup or larger male, nearly no chance.

For captive breed motoros some dealers won´t give u even 20 bucks.

So what happens when breeders can´t sell their less beautifull rays`? I mean these are not discus or eat african cichlids which u can just give TSN or so.

400 sterling is more like $800. A pound is like $1.98 atm....

most rays soon die in captivity.sad but true...bad husbandry, shipping stress etc etc
if you guys seriously think there are anywhere near enough rays being bred to satisfy the market you are simply tripping. If that were the case the prices would have come down instead of being nearly 5 X what they were 2 or 3 years ago for black rays.
If rays are banned in SG and Tapei then the market might ease a little for some types , but maybe not.

well to tell the truth the market is not that big hear in the UK

so if we had say 4 pairs of breeding p14s and the same with other types of rays then their would be no need for us to import any more

we have 2 x pairs of breeding p14s hear in the UK LOTS of motoro 2 x pair of pearls all we need is a few breeding pairs of leo or henliei then we are done for a few years

tiger and flower rays get way to give for most people hear in the UK so their on much point in breeding them

im looking for a pair of scobina to cater for people who want smaller rays

its just a joke if you ask me that eveyone in the US is complaining about the price of captive bred rays and not being able to import any

i have only seen 1 person bred leos and a few motoro why
