Barbed or non barbed

I use Owner worm hooks for my plastics and I always crimp the barbs. It's less stressful for the fish and when you're haulin 5 fish in your livewell to weigh in it's nice for them to be lively when you get there. Barbless is in and out quickly. In my experience you wont' loose fish if you keep pressure on them, even if he shakes all day a tight line usually doesn't loose fish.

Too me these are the only options if you have only lost one fish in your life
YOU ARE SUPER GOOD AT FISHING.
YOU ARE VERY VERY LUCKY
THE FISH YOU CATCH BITE THE HOOK IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY CANT POSSIBLY GET OFF.
THE HOOKS ARE MAGIC
YOU DONT FISH OFTEN.

I use barbs, but I don't see that much damage on the fish, I would rather not lose a lure on every fish I catch also.

rite have you ever hooked yourself with a barbed hook?...hurt?well do that to your mouth.

Barbed all the way. I dont know about you but Im not going to lose a monster fish cause I dont have a barb on my hook. Luckily in the U.S. we dont have that "ban it all cause Im soft and it hurts my feelings" like you all do across the pond...sadly it is getting more and more that way here.

i never use barbed hooks and ive only lost one fish using barbless soive never seen the point in using barbed hooks.becase its mean on the fish i respect them if you used barbed its just a walk in the park an easy fight but doesent match the adrenaline 50-50 chance of catching or losing a fish.

so a barbed hook is mean to a fish
but
yanking on them till they are tired
yank them to the shore
yank them out of the water
hold them out of the water while you remove the hook
hold them some more for some pix
throw them back

ya i think the barbed hook is the worst part


plus
rocks can hurt fish
other fish hurt other fish
ive seen some tore up fish in the wild and it wasnt from a hook

yes but...they wont needrepairing if you just use a net.

i use barbed gamakatsu hooks.. if a fish even looks at it funny its hooked until i get if off.. if the fish is hooked too badly and its too small to eat ill just filet if for my tank fish.. only happens with sunnies thou..

but a net isnt going to help the fish fight you and help remove the hook

and its still going to have a hole in its lip from you yanking on it "barb or not"
so what was the question?

and im guessing you dont use live bait for the fear of piercing a fish with a hook?

guess some people are just extremely sensitive to things others are not

i know every fish that is caught will have worse things happen to it then a barbed hook
thats my point

and like i said,barb or no barb,it WILL have a hole in it
so why again is barbed bad?lol

i dont think Fish dont have feelings in there mouths i think when it gets bloody it means the fish can feel it.
