bass eating a mouse?!

alot....its gonna happen when my fish grow big enough
it seems cruel but thats the world if you eat farm raised animals its the same thing

Agreed...whats the difference between feeding your preds feeder goldfish, mice, shrimp...etc? Some people like to feed their pets on live food. I do...and to be honest I've been thinking about feeding my Armatus a baby mouse recently. :) I would LOVE to see it but I just dont want to take a chance of the mouse injuring my fish! Ive gone through too much for this guy.

Um...the bass couldn't even hardly swallow the mouse. For those of you that have snakes and have fed live mice you know that mice try to bite and scratch when something tries to eat them, it's a reflex. They usually end up peeing or even pooping everywhere too, why would I want that in my tank? Another thing is that bass is in such a tiny aquarium he's barely gonna be able to even properly digest and metabolize the damn thing.

There was no benefit to that whatsoever, and did you notice all the fur floating around the tank? I specifically try to keep fur and hair OUT of my tanks. I actually had a fish die once from getting a hair caught in its gill, so I can't imagine fur wouldn't at least be an irritant.

I can see wanting to watch your fishes predatory instincts but that video was more of a "How big of an animal can we feed to the bass and he'll actually eat it?". Not good for the bass even if you ignore the fact that the mouse was pointlessly stressed just to feed to an animal whose natural diet doesn't even largely consist of such things.

Really. Can you link us to info that shows stomach contents of these fish contained a large percentage of rats/mice?

And I'm not sure what people don't understand about fish in the wild not being like fish in your tanks. Fish in the wild burn a lot more calories than fish in your aquariums.

http://203.86.194.7/Images/bofnzff/metriver.jpg theres trout
but ive only heard of bass and have caught tons on mouse lures
but you have an excellent point about the calories used compared to wild fish im not saying your wrong im saying it not cruel
