bass eating a mouse?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a Tiger Oscar and i wont even feed him a mouse...its not a natural meal. I know that bass are scavenders and so are oscars but still a mouse!?!?! Animal cruelty at its best....unnatural and just cruel

mouse issue aside, since its cause for such debate, the guy should not have a LMB in such a small tank, regardless of what the idot is feeding

Way to small on your tank. As far as bass eating mice. I have caught as many bass on a rat lure as I have any other.. Big bass hit the rat. I have a 9 lb 10 oz. mounted to prove it..

A mouse is way more nutritious than any other live food you can get at a store. Except for the tank I'd bet that bass is a pretty happy camper with all the feeder mice he can eat. I've seen bass in the wild eat squirrels, rats, chipmunks, alligators, if it moves it's food.

i seriously doubt that wild LMB get mammalian prey items more than a couple times a year in the wild, in our tanks their diets tend to be limited to just a couple food items at best so there is no good reason to feed mice frequently(more than a couple times a year) in our tanks. yes there are mouse shaped lures, so what, i could make a lure shaped like pres. bush and catch bass on it, and although i know we wish we could feed him to a bass, it wouldn't mean anything, bass will hit just about anything. just like bullfrogs will eat everything, including mice and other frogs but a diet of frogs would be very unhealthy. btw, i have seen multiple videos of bass eating rodents in the wild, off the top of my head i can recall one of some guys throwing a squirrel in and another of a chipmunk being thrown in.
