oh yeah they need lots of cover as they are very shy and extremely careful/wary of people. after while they will get used to you and come out to look at you, almost study you. you can kinda see intelligence in their eyes.

I agree, they are extremely intelligent, I was reading somewhere on the internet that studies conducted showed that Largemouth Bass have a very high intelligence level as compared to most other fish. They seem to have a very strong memory. They are able to distinguish certain things based on memory. They also have a limited, yet present ability to reason to an extent.

actually Im not even sure what that "kettle" thing is like? What does it look like to begin with lol? Is the kettle outside??? If so, I would suggest throwing in some plants from that same pond you got him from. Native plants would provide some good oxygen in that kettle.

Now I am thinking you can either go with an external filter or you can take your chances and see what happens....

I would consult the guys over at the Indoor-Outdoor Pond section of MFK and get their input on a good filter for a kettle.

Also, how many gallons does that kettle hold?

im surprised nobody has jumped red'n hots case for releasing his fish back into the wild. wont be long now...

I dont see why a LMB would require anything different than any other predatory fish. Then again, I am a firm believer that if you keep a predatory fish it is a crying shame to force it to eat inanimate foods. how would you like to be forced to eat TV dinners every meal for the rest of your life!!!???

if the fish didnt like it, then it wouldnt eat it.

LMB are predatory. in case you dont know, that means they HUNT for thier meals. where in nature can you observe a LMB sucking pellets from th surface of the water...

i meerly put it where it came from...beside if it didn't lke it, it wouldn't have gone back

As opposed to all the other fish who order room service and go out for Taco Bell nightly? Last I checked, fish don't have any fast food joints whether it's a danio or a giga.

for those that dont know if a fish is not a predator than it is forager, or if i t does both its an omnivor...DOH! Do i have to explain what a scavenger is...?

...but thats a good point you bring up, we could make killing selling fast food to fish. its a virtually untapped marked...crap...i forgot...fish don't have money! thanks for being a smart ass, or dumb ass, what ever you prefer.

lets try to be more constructive in the future...shall we.
