Bassin Mike Cichla Thread

Just a update on my 3 temensis from Wes. had them now for 2 weeks. I just got curious and measured one and it grew almost a inch since i first got them in on june 8th. They have some spangling coming in also. I knew they grew fast but i also believe good diet and often water changes also helps thier growth. what sucks about temensis is that they are lengthy fish. So if you look at my smaller 5" xingu hes got a bigger head shape and girthy body frame compare to my tems. so inch wise my tems would last in my big tank but actual size as far as headshape and body frame they wouldnt last. So i am guessing within the next 2-3 weeks i will move them onto my big tank. for anyone thats curious about me housing these tems long term. Me and my Wife will be buying a 8x3x3 tank for them. Keep in mind though i will be only keeping two of them long term. so it will be just two big tems in one tank. thats the plan for now so hopefully when its time it will still fall into place. With that said hope yall are having a awesome weekend.

Love these posts. Looking forward to your 8x3x3 build.

Thanks Man. I will def post up once that build gets underway. Still debatinging on filtration. Esp with temensis. They eat a ton of food so the waste will be high. Thinking of running dual overflows and a massive sump.

I have a 150 gallon sump and an Ultima 2000. I love the ultima. I can change 300 gallons of water, clean the filter, and water my lawn all in 15 minutes.

They are easy to set up. Just plug them into your tank and use a powerful external pump. I use a reeflo god hammerhead dart.
