BATTLE: LOS ANGELES

when someone says a movie is terrible, i always wonder what they DO think is good. Doesn't really do us much good if you think certain movies are terrible but our tastes are is on the opposite side of the spectrum. IE i hate battle:los angeles but i love Cloverfield? i'm sure there's someone out there that thinks that way

So if this movie sucked, what recent action flick was good?

I hope I don't offend anyone, but this movie was terrible. There was no plot, nothing to keep the viewer intruiged. All it was was 2 hours of action and corny speeches, and to be honest there are way better action movies that don't use nearly as much CGI. I mean I have seen way worse but I found myself ready to leave as soon as the main character was deployed.

+1, I felt the exact same way, but I don't think it was terrible. Just not a good movie. Lots of action, that's about it. I would much rather watch Independence Day before I watch this movie again.

For me a good action movie is definately like the Bourne series great plot, amazing setting, and great action. 300 is a good action movie if your going to do a action movie without a plot that is the way to do it. I have plenty of action movies in my collection: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Troy, Repomen, Chronicoles of Riddock, Snatch.

Yeah man it's a total rip-off of Independence Day, which was done a lot better.

It shouldn't be compared to good sci-fi movies like Independence Day, War of the Worlds, Signs, District 9, etc.

It's an action movie that happens to have aliens instead of terminators or Germans.

If you're expecting a deep character study or something then I suggest not seeing it. If you want to see cool-looking aliens destroy a city then see it.

madding, that's the only reason i'm going to see it. sometimes i just want some sweet technology and a city destroyed.

It is something of a rip off of Independence Day but I still like this better.The thing that hurts both films to me is the characters making little jokes in a time of dread.
