Thats a great idea, I have always planned on just borrowing a truck from work, but we could just as easily rent a huge uhaul and fill it to the top

Use Penske, their one way rentals come with unlimited miles over a three day period, plenty of time to drive down there and back.

Just keep checking the quotes, 'cause the rates fluctuate. Last summer I reserved a truck 2 weeks in advance, and got a quote for about $300, checked it a week later it shot up to $900. Crazy thing is, I reserved one a couple weeks ago, and it was under $200 and it just kept getting lower from there to about $105 as my pickup date got closer.

I just got a 168G, 60"x25"x26", from 6th ave. in SF for $168 excluding cover and lighting. Aquatraders in San Bruno also sells them.

6th ave I forgot to call them! There always pretty good. But does anyone have any other places????

In Modesto here there is a store called Tropical Haven, and they have the lowest prices ever. It's too bad I just let my business licsence expire. I used to own a service business and would buy acrylic tanks direct from the manufacturer. You know they build those things right there in Hayward. I will be starting up another aquarium related business probably by the end of summer if you wait.
Check out Tropical Haven. They only stock glass tanks but will order acrylic. But as far as equiptment, cheaper than the internet. Also he takes trade in's on fish so sometimes he'll have a monster arowana or redtail and such.

PMK - I have a friend selling his complete 300g. tank and stand for only $2000. Seen the tank myself and its very nice.

PM me if interested....

We should do an MFK meet at 6th ave. Do you think we'll all fit in there? lol. As for their tanks, I think they're pretty much priced nearly the same as everyone else when it comes to the higher quality tanks like truvu and all-glass. The $1/gal tanks, 168 is the largest that you can get them. I don't trust the quality on those things. They have the messiest silicone job I've seen on tanks. I see a few get returned because of leaks. Another place to check out is http://mainlycichlids.com/

Some times the less expensive acrylic tanks aren't worth the risk of deflection or rupture. Go with TruVu. The best.

I agree its not worth losing your whole front room. Truvu tanks are greta never heard anything bad about them so the reputation speak for itself.

I have bought dozens of tanks from TruVu (directly). They are good people and great tanks. Those are the ones I was talking about being built in Hayward. A humble facility but awesome tanks. I plan on rekindling my business relationship with them soon.
