BBXB Arrowana wigging out

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well i have to agree 80 is a bit cold i would turn the temp up to 84

84-86 is better for the aro they feed better less chance of parasites

in their natural habitat 80 would be to cold

80 is ok in short spells but not long term

For Asian Arowana theirs not a farm that keeps in water cooler than 28C (82.4 F). FYI the Perfered temp is 28-32 C or 82.4 - 89.6 F for Asian Aro.
Its true the ponds themselves are at that temperature and they fluctuate throughout the day, but in the fry holding tanks and hospital tanks, its all at 80.

My aro was a little shy with just the rays as well and didn't want to eat much. He also lost a few scales from hitting the tank and cover glass (I assume) when he was younger. When I added some silver dollars as dithers, he swam around much more, ate better and seemed more relaxed.

I also keep my tank at around 80 F and do 30% wc every second day.
