Nope. I was about to quote the things I posted to this entry, but why? I reread everything, and it is as clear as it can be without lapsing into a 10,000 word essay. You might disagree, but if you don't comprehend it..... it's on you. I admitted that I was making generalizations and that not all young people were irresponsible or ignorant. All I was saying is that it is naturally more prevalent in the young. Law of nature stuff here, not an opinion. The only thing you are proving is that you are not one of the "exceptions."

Thanks for the insults Oscar the D!$%, I mean grouch.

I comprehended exactly what you said-you think ALL young people are stupid, which is entirely and completely wrong. Sure there are those that are stupid, but not all of us are.

Believe me, I am definitely an "exception" as I am neither irresponsible nor ignorant.

You can preach your ancient Chinese arts all day, but they're irrelevant.

this started to go off topic and im bored of fishkeepers arguing amongst themselves

you know from across the room both people arguing look like idiots no matter who is right
so remember that everyone while you drink your hateraide

be more possitive everyone its comes back full circle

bu bye

young people just make more mistakes, besides I KNOW A FEW OF YOU OLDER MFKERS WITH OVERSTOCKED UNDERFILTERED tanks....

I completely agree with that. I unfortunately (or fortunately depends on how you look at it) did not have the internet when I was their age and younger. I spent most of my time at the library or fish club meetings learning from others and taking their advice. However when some kid comes on here asking for advice on a certain species and several experienced advanced aquarists give them great advice and they go against it. It really irritates me and many others that I have talked to when they make a post the following week that the fish died for whatever reason. Normally they blame everything else other than their own mistake. I don't think we have to worry too much though.... school is about to start and we can go back to enjoying this forum until next summer.

I disagree with your age limit im 15 but I really only started using the internet in 6th grade before that I barely touched the computer never had a gaming system I have an old one now that I never use. young people shouldent be judged based on the mistakes of a few there are some very good very young people here. I spend most of my time reading about fish online unfortunately fish clubs are not available near me but if they were I would definitely go. and after my first fish my JD I realized I didnt have the supplies to house other monster fish so im down scaling my fish and upscaling my tanks to acomodate small drift wood cats like microglanis iheringi a small species of SA bumble bee cat. ( put scientific name because some bumble bee cats get bigger than others).

how ever I do agree with you there are some people here who buy a fish and then ask what did I buy not knowing that they bought a JD or some other fish very common in the trade. I always do research before asking things on here. there is still alot I need to learn because there are sooo many fish on here that I dont know about.

how ever I agree dont go buying an arapima gigas or an rtc or a tsn or any of those giants if you dont have a frickin lake.

and on that note ill take a :chillpill: and ask if someone could tell me the full name of an ID so I can read about it thank you

I really cant tell who's old or young these days. Nor do i really want to know ether. Quality of post & what type of mind is driving is clearly visible in hidden subtext structure. You instinctivly know those whom are serious in their efforts & those whom coast & flirt at the edges.

If it were up to me, every single person (interested parties) coming up through the aquatic ranks should be allocated a selection of possible "buddy candidates" via a mentorship program. Dirrect info line to a proven knowledgeable mentor will strave off most common mistakes & misconceptions from the start.
In an ideal world, "Wisdoms" as you put it, is then imprinted correctly to the next generations.
Forums are a tool set, an arena that is meant to keep information honest between groups of like minded individuals. When perpetual mis-information is being constantly peddled, efficency of this tool set is not being met.

Just one view, & my take on the subject anyways.

Forget what you think I mean, and read what I actually wrote. I supported everything you are arguing for and posted that "we were all teenagers once." I clearly stated more than once that I DO NOT want an age limit except under very specific circumstances. You are only serving to prove my point. It's like you're loading my gun for me.

Now now, Don't try to sound all big and tough with your Big words  You can be young and intelligent or be young and stupid, Don't charge teens like me just because you think we are not as smart as all of you, We learn as everyone does everyday, The judgement I'm seeing in the people who support an age limit is amazing. This is like segregation just not as extreme, Before you post thoroughly think through what you are about to say and don't sound like a jerk who thinks they are smarter than younger people. All of you were 13,14,15 and 16 before and don't try to act like you were born an 18 year old. I think this discussion should be ended as of now just because of the fact that this arguing is pointless and stupid and is wasting all of our time by thinking that fish keeping should be a hobby only for adults and people that are younger cannot enjoy the same hobby, This is pretty sad and I'm extremely disappointed in the adults, All of you should be smarter than this and not try to act mature when you are sounding just like a 12 year old. The flaming is pointless and the mutilation of one another is pointless. Stop this useless conversation and act your age.

Segregation????? Really??!???!!!! Wow. What perfect examples of ignorance and immaturity. And right before you type to think about what you are saying before you post. Case in point. Game over. Thread closed I'm sure.

This forum should have a fee. This thread proves it. Look at all the insults and bs. not to mention the stupid comments, poor advice, and pointless threads throughout the site. I joined this site to gain knowledge about REALISTIC projects that I plan on doing in the future. I'm getting tired of asking questions and have jacka$$ respond or having to read through pages and pages of bs and inaccurate info to find the actual helpful solution.

Fees are great for keeping serious people involved in discussion but it also decreases the amount of members. I'm a member of several forums that have annual fees and they are great but not as active as this place. However if you want real information and not some kid googling your info for you they are much better.

Exactly the point ^
