Beamswork LED's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Almost 2 years and I still haven't lost a single led. Love these lights. There are a ton of led options for good prices now (Current, Finnex ect) but this is still the best bang for your buck IMO.

Hello, thanks for the useful information for these LED's. I see that obviously most posting here have freshwater, but I have a 180 gallon saltwater tank with ONLY fish. I currently have a Coralife Lunar Aqualight Compact Fluorescent Fixture, 4X96 Watt, 72 inch. I'm looking to reducing my operating cost while still keeping it nice and bright. I've found a couple different Beamsworks options on eBay and Amazon. Probably either the 72 inch V3 or two of the 36 inches.

First question... how do I compare light output? My coralife is 384 watts and is super bright. The 72 inch V3 is 400x 0.2W LEDs, so 80Watts? The beamswork reports 7000 lumens, but I'm not certain what my coralife is.
Second question... if I DO end up getting some anemones and need stronger light, will this beamswork provide enough? or is there another beamswork option that would?
Thanks, Hef

Sorry, I tried to fix the text in the original post, but I don't see an edit button, so here's my post:

Nope haven't used those yet. But I will say I'm running BeamsWork on almost all my tanks for about 4 months now. Nothing wrong and best bang for your buck.
I agree about best bang for the buck but not necessarily the best lighting. I replaced my single bright Beamswork for Current satellite + and have used the rose setting and noticed how much better the fish look. That is why I was asking about the pink because the standard light did not impress me that much.

Still aggravated that they aren't more OEM timer options still without having crazy high lumens. It's fueling my procrastination on finishing my stand/canopy that I made.

Though I am thinking about giving in an getting a higher lumen 36" for my 48x24 footprint as the canopy I built is 12 inches taller than the tank. Making the spread fairly viable and a higher lumen LED still giving me an option of having a few live plants (probably low light plants albeit).

I would be cautious about buying form Aquatraders. I recently bought the 72" Beamswork Hi-lumen LED from them and had a bad experience.
The power supply stopped working after just over 1 month. When I contacted them about it they just kept reiterating they only have a 30 day guarantee. They were not willing to replace the power supply (light was fine) and only offered a 5% discount. I've had much better experience ordering from EBAY (topdogsellers) who offers better customer service and cheaper prices.

this is the 2nd time I've had the power supply crap out. The first one died after several months, the 2nd after just over 1 month. Has anyone else had this experience?
I love the lights, but am concerned about having to keep replacing the power supply which is over $50 to replace.

have you test your voltage coming to your plug-in receptacle??

Bringing this topic back to life to see if anyone has used or seen the HI Lumen RGB Pink in action.

i have ordered the 48" and they screwed up by sending me a 36" long story short.. the light i LIKE only since it brings out my tropical fishes colors but if you turn them with the super bring 3 row LEDs it's like too much.. so i called them up and ask if they make the RGB single row for the moon light and the rest is shimmer white LED they said no so i would Love it.. i would still need to buy the white LED... i have to use them 2 in comparison..
