I had an adult pair a year ago, and it seemed impossible, they could not be kept together.
I picked up the 12 beani I have now as juvies back in Feb this year, seems 3 pairs have formed so far. This is the 1st pair to spawn.
I've almost always found, starting with 6 or more young cichlids is the easiest and most sure way to get 1 or more compatible pairs.

that is awesome, props for breeding a real hard fish to even keep in a tank. thumps up to this guy

Congrats! The pictures and fish look amazing! I have a male Beani I got from C.O.A. and I cant wait to pair it up and give spawning Beani a shot. They are my 3rd favorite Cichlid. Thanks for all the great information you have been posting about them. Good Work!
