Beani Gold Rush

Haha nice!

Have you ever tried grand sumo food?

It has color enhancing hormones in it. You have to order from Japan or something. I think there might be a couple places in the states that sell it on the Internet. Actually there's probably stores in Cali that have it.

I used it on my Midas pair and red terrorXtexas pair and their colors were friggin nuts.

It's expensive food but worth the money if you want to really bring out the color of the fish.

They have growth food as well, and I think they have one with a mix of color hormone and growth hormone. I wouldn't mind using it again

Thanks styles!

Actually, yes im familiar with Grand sumo, the one you are talking about is the Red which contains a lot of color enhancing ingredients vs their original which is mainly for growth.
They are designed for flowerhorn keepers to "pump up" their FHs prior to competition.
However, I would never feed it to my FHs let alone to the Beani which would have a very hard time digesting the protein and un-natural ingredients and could result in bloat let alone a shorter life span :(
NLS is honestly the way to go. All natural, not too much protein, extra garlic to prevent disease, spirulina for color, etc.
Your guy is big enough to be fed the NLS jumbo which I truly believe would produce better results than Sumo/bio-gold/massivore and all of the other competitors as I have used all of these and NLS ftw :D

I concur with Endo - if your fish require hormones to look good, it's probably time to look for new fish.

If your beani is used to the sinking 3mm I would also stick with that, the Jumbo NLS pellet is a 4.5mm floating pellet. IMO stick with what is working, and has obviously been working well. :)

Yea man NLS just cant be beat!
Im currently feeding mine the 1mm TheraA and 1mm Finicky Fish Forumula which contains mussel to entice their appetite and also has 38% protein

Always happy to hear when an expert agrees with me :)
Neil is right, if your Beani is used to the sinking, chances are he won't come up for the Jumbo.

Although Neil, my local Petco sells NLS theraA Jumbo (blue cap) that are 6mm Sinking, not the 4mm floating. Has all the same ingredients and the extra garlic and 38% protein + only 5% fat and not like the usual 7% in the smaller thera A's.
This might be golden for your Beani if fed in small amounts :D

Yeah ill just stick with NLS. Thanks for the heads up. I probably wouldn't man up to order it anyways haha. When I used it on my red terrorXtexas it was given to me by a friend. That ****s expensive haha, I'm too cheap to pay for it.

My Beani kinda usually eats the food when it's at or near the top of the water. Doesn't really touch it when it's on the gravel anymore. So that food ends up being bottom feeder food.

If big Al's has anything bigger that sinks I might try that out. If not ill stick with the 3mm stuff.

Thanks man!!

Endo, RD. is the one that basically saved my Beani from bloat. Huge respect for this guy!! :)
