I can't make up my mind between a beani or grammode. I was thinking of getting some from Rapps and was wondering if anyone has pictures of theirs. Or info about them like good w/ tankmates, temperment, or growth rate? Thank you.

don't know much except that grammodes are slow growers but if you have the patience they can be really really colorful and showy when mature. Beani are kind of the hot thing right now but they don't do much for me.

so their growth rate is really that sloooow? lol

I assume you saw the recent thread I started. Mine went from 3" - 6" in a year. Grammodes usually don't have a lot of personality and hide a lot. I don't think beani have better personalities from what I have read. It is really not an easy choice. I have never had a beani, but I may get one one day if a tank comes available.

I've had both for years now and currently still have some. Both grow slow but a beani would put a grammodes to shame when it comes to personality. I've never had a beani that's shy even at a young age. I've finally found a grammodes that's not shy but it took a long time before this happened.

Temperament - both are better off having their own tanks.

Tankmates - I would not recommend it but I've tried it. I've had success using salvini's and neet's as tankmates.

Grammodes is more affordable but some vendors are selling beani's cheap now too. Just get both :D

Neither fish is a quick gratitude type fish, you buy them to keep them, if you are just looking for a fish to post on the boards, neither fish will be cool for long.

Both fish are very nice, a grammode is like a mini dovi, a beani is a whole different fish.
