Beani or Grammode?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Davey_8313, I have both and my Beani is more pesonable, although the Grammodes has a nice color (lots of red freckles on the male). I am crazy about both of them, but for different reasons.

Thanks man. I have to come see your tanks, lol. Where did you get yours?

I few more weeks and I'll be selling most of them
Nice, hopefully I'll see it when you do go to sell them...

How about an istlanum? Similar to a grammodes but with a lot of personality?

I've kept both Istlanum and Grammodes. Currently keeping a Grammodes, for almost 2 years and he's still shy. But i'd have to agree Istlanum is much, much better personality wise than the Grammodes. Very outgoing and a voracious eater.

I haven't kept Beani, though i want to heh, so I can't really speak on them . One day i'd love to keep all three.

I plan to remove about 4 of them but move them to another tank, why do you say when I sale them?

I was asking Ruck Fules about selling his fry. He has a breeding pair. You wanna sell one of yours? :naughty:

Go with the Istlanum if you can find them. Super personality even when small never really hides. I sold mine like a dumbazz and regret it. Haven't seen any adults in a few years. Grammodes grow sickenly slow and hide or kill tank mates then hide again. Never had any experiance with beani.

To me, it just doesn't get much better than that ^^

A bit off topic but what is the recommended tank size for a single Beani?

Beani have special feeding requirements due to the fact that they are prone to bloat if given a high protein diet. My Grammodes is not shy at all and is certaily a feisty, aggressive fish. If you go with Beani from Rapps though, I would recommend getting the largest that you can afford as you'll probably end up with a stronger, more stable specimen.
