Right now its fine but in a couple months its gonna be at least 10F lower, I guess I will have to turn my heater on this winter....damn. I like it cold but will sacrifice for my animals.

Not my image, but that is what I mean. Tile in the floor, but I do not think you can really do this easily in a glass tank.


For the night time, if you want to use a CHE, that will work. Use a thermostat with those monsters.
If you use a heat gun or thermometer , an infrared, may keep you in an acceptable temp. range.

Put the digital thermometer next to the window, only a 3F difference. The setup will be on the other side of the room away from the window but I will keep it shut at night.

Those energy hogging, deathtraps people use.

I would look for a better looking tile. Just don't get anything that has no texture. No grout, use aquarium sealant. Makes cleanup a breeze.

Male 8- 9 weeks
female 8-10 weeks


I base this solely on the sixty or so I have raised, used to breed leather backs. Until I moved for college.
They grow the same as the regular dragons, at least. From what I have raised.

Not impossible, but takes some practice. Penal bulges http://www.dachiu.com/sexing.html is your best way, but unless you've done it a few times, you might end up purchasing a male when you wanted a female. Especially on young animals.


Active, plump, same rules for selection as for just about every lizard. No sunken eyes, smeared vent, visible backbone, broken toes, nip tails. THings of that nature.
