Bearded Dragon Questions

Went to Petco to check out what they had. They had three 4-5 inch babies for $60. Pic included. They had the humidity at 80-90 and the temp around 73F. They didn't really have a basking light for them. They were all huddled up and not moving much. One did a bit for I left. I'm getting the tank from them though for $55 because they are doing their $1 per gallon sale starting Sunday. They did have one good looking Water Dragon that was following me as I walked by the tank. Still not sure what I'm getting, depends on what I see in Eugene tomorrow.

Please excuse the poor image quality, as well as the date stamp. This little cheap camera is not mine.
In the first image, if you look in the center of the photo, you'll see why I have started covering the tile with newspaper. The plexiglas is covered with electrical tape because the damn lizards like to scratch it up.
That branch is the only decoration. I got frustrated cleaning turd off perches and, hides they never used.

They are pretty basic, I built them in about an hour each and only had one day to do it. They have ventilation on both sides, and along the back. There is only a UVB source, right now no heat is needed in the room these cages are all in. At least until November. Then I just bolt the things back into the "roof".

Oh, they are all together because I was cleaning out the males on the bottom. Both females are housed together.

They were just there because of the temperature, raise it 10-20 degrees and they will perk right up.

Thats what I was thinking. Other than that do they look ok? Probably to hard to tell from the pic. None had any old pealing skin on them, the Iguana they had did. So why couldn't you house a male and female together?

I'm sure they are fine, they looked nice and fat. Iguanas are a lot of work and money to own.
I cannot house them together because they breed like nobodies business. He will rough them up and wear them out fast. The darker beardie is a female german giant. She's laid 42 eggs before. Much larger clutches than a regular dragon. Should I chose to breed her, I would prefer to keep her strain as pure as I possibly can. Very often she is mistaken for being male. So, I named her Butch.

Nice. I think I will stick to one if this is the route I choose. Am I gonna have problems house such a small one in a 4ft tank? I know that won't stay that small for long, they were about 5 inches.

it takes a dragon 12 months to reach adult size. I would just build something. Or, if you want the tank to last longer than that, I think a 75 would be a better choice, because it is wider. Regardless, 2' should be allowed for width. It cost me a 100 to build one enclosure. The choice is yours.

Well what I was thinking was is down the road get a second 55 and combine the 2 tanks so it would 4ft x 2ft.
