I agree, extensively research. They a huge responsibility and require a lot of care.

yeppers ^ that sums it up

Ok now its my turn. As already stated bearded dragons and a pond its a big no no. Why? Here is why: it will create far too much humity that will lead to hillness among your dragons, it will create a unsanitary condition with dragons pooping and drinking from the pond wich will create a perfect breeding ground for patogens even if filtrated (bearded dragons are VERY sensitive to thouse patogens) and it would be a very serious risk of your dragons drowning and no they wouldnt stay away, they are like children if you had them before you would know that. Now if you loose the pond you could do a really cool desert display with the bearded dragons. With the pond you could keep australian water dragons Phsignathus lessueuri wich by what Im seeing would probably be the perfect lizard for you. They love to swim, are cold hardy (but still need all the basking ligths) and resilient to water patogens. Also they dont trully need the deep rainforest habitat of the other species, they inhabit very similar habitats of bearded dragons in north aussi but with water and more plants. And yes keeping big monitors with no previous experience its a defenitive no no.
