Actually Multipunctatus only get 6"-7", but a still a great cat.

I would not doubt you are right, Fishbase gives max size as 11" but I have never seen them much bigger than 6". Scotcat has an interesting article on breeding them.

In the wild, remember 50-75% of wild max size is average for captivity.

I'd say if they raise the catfish for their full life span it's more like 75%-100%. Most people just don't do the right things to keep catfish for their incredibly long life spans. They grow their entire lives no matter how minute that might be. Just because something is kept in captivity doesn't mean that it's genetics go out the window. House it right and keep it healthy, and those adult sizes are very possible even in captivity. Whoever writes that limas only get 10-16" obviously never kept one for more than a year. Keep one for 5-20 years and tell me how big it is if you feed it right, and house it right.

I'd try an aggressive pike cichlid or a shovelnose catfish. Maybe a rocket gar (not very aggressive but will gladly kick the crap out of any fish if messed with). They also are fun to watch when they eat.
