What is the general consensus on beefheart? I've heard feed it for quick growth, don't feed it to any, best food out there, good for some types but not others, dangerous to all. Anyone with experience on this subject?

I have been feeding all my fishes beefheart and market shrimp and had never seen any negative results, but I also haven't see any rapid growth spurts on my fishes, and I keep my water clean weekly water changes 15-20%. I'll say this though my fish love that stuff.
umm i don't use it anymore, period. no cichlids out there will EVER tackle a cow and eat it's heart. 
FOR ME:I feed diced/cubed beef heart for fast growth of potential show fish. However, I never offer it to tanks with breeders since I'm concerned about side-effects of cattle hormone treatments on my brood stock.
no cichlids out there had planned to be raised in our tanks in there lifetime either. i've been trying to find beefheart to try it out but i cant find any.

Hahahahaha that so funny you said that cause I thought the same thing before, I was thinking how often will a cow fall into a river and get killed by dats, polys and some other fish well maybe some but I really doubt my dats, korean perch, and polys would ever take down a cow; but hey they love that stuff.

hey ethics, if you know of any butcher shop around your area they could get it for you. I have a family owned butcher shop by my place and they order some for me when I ask; it's cheap and it's freaking huge. I just trimmed all the fat and cut them in cubes and throw them in the freezer.
thanks eman, ill ask some of the shops around for it n see what they say. i wanna try to beef up my fish with this stuff, atleast as a treat once a week or something. im sure my polys would love this stuff
