Yikes! Do something about that gravel! My eyes are trying to stab themselves!

 Agreed! Change your gravel and add a background, I'm sure you'll love how much better the tank would look! Its a cheap and easy remodel!

I've used Windex for years with no problem. I pour some Windex onto a handful of paper towels to wipe with and dry right behind with another handful of paper towels. That way there's no risk of droplets or mist getting into the tank.

You should never clean a tank with windex. never, never, never. I think the tank looks much better.

 Why not? I am in my 23rd year of fishkeeping and I have always used windex. I like glass that is clear. Glass cleaners like windex to a great job at that.

The best way and cheapest way to clean water streaks/marks is with water and newspaper. Just dip your fingers in water, touch the streaked area with your wet fingers and wipe away with the newspaper. This is by far the cheapest and easiest way to get rid of water marks.

No scratching even with acrylic tanks.

I wouldn't do it though. Newspaper can probably leave very small scratches in the tank and make it look less attractive. (kind of how you can't clean your classes with your shirt). Windex or just water on a paper towel or fine cloth works the best IMO.
They also sell those special aquarium wipes, but those are a rip off IMO.

I've also been use glass cleaner for years to clean my tanks. You'll be fine as long as your tank has a lid and you're not intentionally spraying Windex on the top!

The way I get rid of toddler handprints, watermarks and dust off of my glass? Grab the towel used to dry yourself after the daily feeding and dunk and bit in the tank water. Then with the wet towel, smear all the water over the glass. Use the dry part to wipe several times. This method works a treat for me. I find the newspaper method is best for car windscreens.
