IMO, Canadians have this false sense of pride about their "beer." Yes, Canadian mass-produced beer is typically much better than mass-produced American beer. However, American microbrews are generally much better than Canadian microbrews. I have yet to find a Canadian beer that is of the caliber of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Mendocino Brewing Company Eye of the Hawk, Moylan's Kilt Lifter, just about anything brewed by Anderson Valley Brewing Co., etc. Herrmann's Dark Lager from Victoria, BC, is probably the best Canadian microbrew I've tasted. Some of the beers from Big Rock Brewing Company in Calgary are decent. Oh yeah, Alexander Keith's IPA is the sorriest excuse of an IPA I've ever tasted. It's essentially Nova Scotian Budweiser.newfishguy said:come to canada if you want beer my friend...
