my sister was recently over and asked if she could have my old 20g long for christmas. delighted that she was interested in fish i said of course. i ended up getting a HOB on black friday for like $5 and i have some old sand i was gonna give her and a small flower pot. any recommendations for a beginner? im not sure how dedicated she will be towards it but ill push her in the right direction. i was thinking cons but then she might have to deal with a bunch of fry. then i was thinking apistos but im not sure if she would be a good enough keeper for them. any suggestions?

apistos and rams might be disappointing for a novice keeper, as they can be very sensitive, and die.
if you dont want to worry about fry, you can just get 1 con. it wont breed with itself.

I would go with a single honduran redpoint. I prefer them over cons because of the bluish color and they're not as aggressive.
I have a bunch of juvie con on flakes that I don't know what to do with (just gave away their parents an hour ago).....would be a lot of fun to grow them out in a 20L.
